For one, Cupra might not want it to be on the scheme. Much like the Formentor, which equally has “the right price”. I certainly hope it does come to the scheme, because it looks awesome (the Born) – but i wouldn’t hold my breath.
I think it’s more motability not manufacturers who doesn’t want to have sporty on the scheme.
We ordered a GTE. Pretty sporty.
While i agree that Motability probably wouldn’t want Cupras on the scheme, the same goes for Cupra. From a marketing standpoint, for a sporty brand, “disabled people” isn’t the first thing you think of.
In fact, the Formentor isn’t actually a particularly sporty car in the first place. It’s a sporty looking SUV. It has the same engine as our current car, a 1.5 TSI.

Absolutely nothing would speak against that from Motabilities side. Reasonably priced, decent looks, it’s an SUV (crossover, whatever you wanna call it), reasonable engine etc. Yet, here we are.
Prior: SEAT Ateca Xcellence Lux 1.5 TSI DSG MY19, VW Golf GTE PHEV DSG MY23
Current: Hyundai Ioniq 6 Ultimate
Next: we'll see what's available in 2028.
