I’ve laugh if the arguments here weren’t so distressing to many.

    Facts:

    – MO operates a monopoly of VAT free purchasing vehicles. No other vendor has this option.

    – MO are not smart of aggressive with pursuing deals, so many deals are worse than equivalent private ones.

    – MO leases are little to no risk. Not only do they have a monopoly on tax free purchasing, they have a monopoly on direct collection of lease fees

    – MO overpay for premises, staff, and other items.

    – Salary sacrifice schemes who do not credit check (and take direct payment from employees) are cheaper than motability. And they don’t have access to VAT free cars.

Trying to pass off MO as a ‘well run business’ is simply dishonest. They are trash, and any good leasing company would beat them for both choice and price within 3 months (without needing to credit check) if they were given access to VAT free vehicles for our sector.

@Glos Guy did your 5 series come with insurance? I suspect that’s a large factor for those of us that live in cities. My Cayenne cost almost £200/month in insurance.  The maths DO generally make sense for us on motability, but that’s due to the VAT free nature, not MO or their buying power.
