@Mike 700. When you take out the VAT element from a private lease you will find in some cases they are much cheaper. Motability wasn’t given charity privileges to make obscene profits but to look after the disabled and make best use of their benefits. In my view it isn’t doing either and needs reeling in. Giving a 12.5% bonus to people who answer telephones for a living is obscene in my view especially given the current climate. All aboard the gravy train!
I fully accept your argument regarding the charity status and obscene profits, but not your argument regarding the net cost of a private lease, as you have unfortunately left out the very very important fact that Motability does not credit check /score or income check applicants, so no direct comparison can be made! If credit scores / income checks were introduced, not only would many fail to obtain credit, but the costs would escalate.. cheers
They don’t need to credit check as their payments are guaranteed.
