Hyundai Kona Ultimate 64kWh – late summer we were driving to London and back without (public) charging, a return trip of 270 odd miles, and still had 30 miles of electrons left in the tank.
On a cold journey last week (or the week before) the range was just 210 miles as we set off (even with pre-heating), although we did have the heater going pretty high (my wife is seriously nesh), but as we both have a serious coffee addiction we’ve developed the habit of setting off really early and topping up both the battery and caffeine levels at Toddington southbound, on the way there. At the hour we leave, we’ve never been ICED or had to queue.
I do expect range (using the heater) to dip below 200 miles if the mercury dips below zero. As always, the figure quoted by the manufacturer is an absolute best case scenario, so I wish, just as ICE cars have to present an average fuel economy based on urban, extra-urban and highway, that the range figures given for EV’s also had to take into account seasonal conditions.
