These issues aren’t unique to EV’s. I was driving a 2021 reg Mercedes GLB diesel last week and on three mornings the digital dashboard didn’t work, so I had no idea what speed I was doing and on one morning the car also went into ‘limp home’ mode with hardly any power. With the digital dash being down I couldn’t see any fault messages or instructions.
Sadly, this is one of the negatives of the rapid trend away from buttons and dials in cars to touchscreens and digital everything. Fine when they work, but you can get glitches. We have all become accustomed to computers in our houses or workplaces playing up but it’s a whole different level of inconvenience (and danger) when it happens in a car.
