The fact there are big discounts through Carwow tell a story.
I’ve noticed that. In addition to what ‘KwikFitMan’ says that the car is ageing and is due for a facelift (It’s already three years old) so I feel that Lexus might be looking to offload stock and attempting to increase sales before the updated model launches.
I suspect that you might be correct. As several of us have also noticed, reviews of the car are pretty poor as well so it probably isn’t a big seller. None the less, there will be some who are big fans of Lexus and will happily order one of these in spite of its shortcomings.
As I said originally, with the severe decline in choice that we have experienced with Motability in recent times, any addition is most welcome and particularly so when it’s a new brand as it might hopefully result in newer / better / bigger models over time. So I sincerely hope that this happens and see no reason why it shouldn’t.
Personally, I’d like to see Motability and manufacturers use the scheme more often to offload end of line models as an additional choice, especially if they are cars that we wouldn’t normally be able to order. Not all of us are fans of the move to touchscreens, haptic controls etc from a safety and practicality perspective and often there can be ‘final editions’ or equivalent that are loaded with kit and offer very good value. If we could have access to these at keen prices then I’m sure that many of us would be interested.
