Personally i went for the un tethered version, my thinking behind it was if i change my car in the future what if the connection also changes then your stuck with the lead you have. We all know how manufacturers like to change things and who is to say down the line the connections might not stay the same.
The connection on the charger end will always be the same but not necessarily on the vehicle end was my thought.
