Funny you should mention the opium wars, sif, and then say you’re not bothered by that. Why mention them? In fact they they are a very interesting period of history and well worth reading about in some detail. Without doubt Britain took an immoral position, even by standards of the day, but what you call exploitation was what every nation did if it could, and of course many nations still do.
