Abercol makes a good point. It’s too easy to be insular and think what’s happening in the UK is happening elsewhere. Even within Europe, takeup of EVs is very varied (and subject to state incentives) and there will be parts of the world where new petrol and diesel cars will be sold for very many years to come. Manufacturers have to design and build for the future in those places.
