Have to get on to RSA to discuss a different vehicle. It’s getting to the stage where we can’t really ‘make do’ with the MG3 with how much we are using it- but the situation is basically that these parts could arrive at any time; they could arrive today, could arrive next month. Nobody has a clue.

The garage seem fairly laid back about the Courtesy Car – it came to us with a small area of paint damage, which gets bigger and worse every time I get up to any speed, as bits flake off. I’ve also noticed I’ve curb-scuffed one of the wheel rims at some stage, all of which I’ve told them about and they are totally ok and not fussed about it.

I’ve been pretty anxious about just having the courtesy car anyway, because we have no driveway and all parking is on the street – Which unfortunately means (in our area at least) that cars just get messed with as a fact of life –  by kids and teenagers basically. Most days you’ll come out to the car and find something not how the left it – Wingmirrors wonky, something spilled or thrown on it. Not too long back someone had thrown sweets all over the cars on the street including our courtesy car and they had all melted in the heat. That type of thing.

basically a very long winded way of saying that although this courtesy car really isn’t very suitable, at least my anxiety about keeping the car pristine is helped by the garage being chilled out about the whole thing. But I dread to think how strict RSA would be about a car direct from them. It would be fine if it was for a couple of weeks, not an indefinite period.
