Farid, like you I use Pure mode in town. If I know the journey is going to be longer than say 25 miles, I just leave it in hybrid mode as there’s no point in arriving back home with any charge left in the battery. (I only charge at home). I have once on a trip used the battery save on a motorway section and switched it off again in the town section at the end but I don’t know if that gained anything.
