It’s a mid life facelift, rather than an all new model, so the changes are quite minor. VW made a big mistake IMHO with the facelifted standard Tiguan by removing a lot of kit from the normally desirable R-Line model. Pre facelift, the R-Line Tech had everything that the SEL had plus the styling enhancements. The smart money now goes on the Elegance model which has far more kit as standard than the ‘new’ R-Line.
Given that the Tiguan has always been one of the most popular cars on the Motability scheme and the Allspace one of a very small number of slightly larger SUV’s available, I am sure that it will return once the chip crisis ends. The interesting thing will be whether the Elegance model appears, especially in the e-Hybrid variant (assuming that happens) as that will probably be the model that most people would want. ‘Life’ models are a bit lacking in kit and the styling looks a bit low rent.
