Glos guy you make a very valid point, just soo frustrating when say you can find the perfect car well under all the caps for hp and overall price on auto trader some of them less than 6months old but yet can’t get the cars people need in the scheme
Totally agree Jamie. It would be a nice gesture if, in spite of the reasons why it doesn’t work normally, Motability made some exceptions in the current climate. For example, the VW Tiguan is a hugely popular car with Motability customers and I’m sure that many people would consider a used version if they are keen to change and don’t want to extend their existing lease.
Luckily, we managed to take delivery recently of the one car that ticked almost every box for us and it’s still available on the scheme, but if that had been removed I think that we would have probably left the scheme and gone private. We are fortunate that we are able to do that, but most people aren’t and, whilst the current shortages are beyond Motabilities control, there seems to be a lack of lateral thinking at present.
