So far I have his housing benefit, council tax benefit and gas & electric account set up. Waiting to hear back about the furnishing grant and sent in a quote from the carpet people, £478 to do 2 rooms!, the council grant is for a max of £250. It’s only 25 SqM so I’ve asked for a quote for just the living room.
I can get the same 15mm thick insulated heavy duty carpet tiles we have here for about £8.00 SqM so his bedroom would only cost about £95 and I’m sure they’ll be better quality than the carpet they’ll be putting in.
Nets, blinds, light fittings, pots & pans, dinner set and other essentials arriving in dribs and drabs this week so we’re on the way, just got to paint/decorate the living room and his bedroom befroe the flooring goes in.
