There was a recent increase in per Kw prices at superchargers, Instavolt/Ionity/BP et al. as they had been charging 5% VAT (the electricity VAT rate) but the Government, bless ’em, ruled that charge points had to levy the full 20% VAT.
So, next time the Govt moan about slow uptake or poor infrastructure, they should remember that their tax hike pushed prices up and deterred people from switching to EV’s, which in turn lead to slower rollouts of chargers as you need a critical mass of EV’s to support the charger cost/upkeep.
