I think the key to this article is “across Europe”. UK patterns of use of PHEVs has been driven by the tax benefits to business users who then get their petrol paid for and in many cases have no incentive to plug their cars in.
That and the “data collected by Ford”. I tend to never trust data, sourced, collected and presented by the same company it is advertising
