Great post, Brydo. Did not know this fiasco, sorry, Green Paper was being done. Have not had time to read it all but will try later. However, have skimmed the intro’s and the most telling bit seems to be point 9 in the Executive Summary bit:
9. We are proud of this Government’s commitment to supporting disabled people. However, the amount of public money we spend on benefits for disabled people and people with health conditions is growing every year, and it is vital we ensure that this money is spent in the most effective way possible.
Translation:
We are proud that we’ve been able to fool most of the people most of the time. Will continue to do this because disabled people cost too much so we’ll chop their benefits back more and more.
