Ah, they’ve got you with the new “pre-diabetes” shocker too, have they? Same here and in about three or four friends and neighbours. Dunno what the exact figures are but full diabetes means a score of, say, 6.5. My reading is 6.2 measured a month ago. Two years ago, I had a reading of 6.4 but I was not, then, pre-diabetic notifiable because no-one was. Only thing changed is the NHS rules handed down from on high (some seedy little jobsworth getting his rocks off fecking everyone up with worry). Now, GPs are charged with informing you of pre-diabetes if you go over a certain level. Previously, they weren’t. More jobs for the boys I reckon.

I’m not off ice cream because of diet or diabetes. It is a killer at bringing on the restless leg syndrome (mentioned this before here or on books, I think.) Two small spoonfuls after dinner will have me raving with the red mist demon in full swing about two hours later. Chocolate also. Love it. Can’t eat it at all. Any sugar in a dessert is the same. Even had to cut my coffee consumption to two cups a.m. and one p.m. (Not after 3pm). Very, very, very annoying. Especially since I make a damn good tiramisu which uses copious dollops of chocolate, sugar and coffee. So annoying I can’t even feel worthy !
