Not full RRP, Glos Guy. I took £2k off which is about all can be got at the moment. There’s still a big gap between what we pay and what would be lost to depreciation. If you compare the residuals after 3 year for an X1 and an XC40, there’s a big difference partly reflecting the heavy discounting of new BMWs I suspect.

Yes a big gap if you can only get £2k off the XC40 I agree, but not if you get £10k off a 5 Series as I did. Also, I was able to run a far better car than we can get on Motability for the same money (even allowing for depreciation). No idea what the discounts would be on an X1 at present, as if it was a private purchase I wouldn’t buy one ?
