Petrol cars are fairly clean now, and economical too in general. Add a small battery pack and economy is much better. I read that in states my car without the hybrid gets what they call good mileage at about 30mpg.. mine gets over 50, sometimes 60.
All these big battery packs they are using now, well even with recycling we will run out of raw materials soon so, and damage the planet tboot. Newer batteries my be the way forward.. solid state(whatever they are) etc.
Make more hybrids and you will spin out the materials further, and improve the whole pollution thig too
