I can only tell of my own experiences of my local Kwik fit. I use Shipley, West Yorks, if they are busy I can indeed be sat around for an hour or two, but they do keep me going in coffee. If they can’t get the tyre I once went to another local branch to get it rather than wait all day for their van to deliver, problem sorted. My first mutability had a rash of punctures afters years of never getting them. The guys and ladies of Shipley have always been good with me, cracked on and I have always been able to book an appointment no problems. I got 4 brand new tyres for my mx5 fitted, balanced, tracking done and old tyres disposed of for £200 before I was disabled around 2009?
