Great decision, AlanBang. We’re giving up our X1 having just ordered an XC40 Hybrid. There’s lots about the X1 I’ll miss, particularly the driving fun and the way it sounds – neither of which are positives for the XC40!
I’d missed the fact that you’d ordered the Volvo Wigwam. What was the clincher for you? I never got to drive one in the end, but based on all the reviews I had read or watched felt that it would be a compromise for us, and your test drive feedback seemed to confirm that. I quite fancied the electric and petrol combo but the electric range on the XC40 in real world driving seems very low and then your left with a 1.5 engine (3 cylinder?) – all points that you identified as I recall. So what tipped you to the Volvo? Did you get a good discount and what’s the lead time?
