When do you/should you sign the dealership order form, the car i am getting is from their current stock, they have sent me the order form thru email and ESIG pin code to complete it electronically. They have yet to send me an email with the telephone agreed price to take my current car off my hands. Any advice welcome as it is my first motability car.

Ordinarily you don’t sign any order forms, but if I am reading your post correctly you are trading in your current private car. In that case, you are entering into a contract with the dealership separately to the Motability order, so signing a contract for that transaction would be quite normal. However, you obviously don’t want to sign anything that doesn’t state exactly what they are giving you for your trade-in, because if your new car is delayed they can argue that your car is then worth less than it is now.

Don’t feel compelled to trade-in your private car for a Motability car as you will usually get significantly more money by selling it privately. Yes it’s a bit more hassle, but I have always ended up with thousands more by selling privately. On one occasion I got £4,500 more privately than the dealer had offered in part-exchange.
