When do you/should you sign the dealership order form, the car i am getting is from their current stock, they have sent me the order form thru email and ESIG pin code to complete it electronically.

They have yet to send me an email with the telephone agreed price to take my current car off my hands.

Any advice welcome as it is my first motability car.

Do not enter PIN code until you have thoroughly checked everything is in good order. Bearing in mind on Monday the 12th of April dealerships are now open once again.

Sign nothing until you have it in writing and in your hand.

Only pay advance payment once everything is in order like paper work on agreed price and Ap

Have you had you paperwork from Motability including your personal pin number?

@Joss yes i have my personal pin stored on my online motability account.

Ive looked at this order they have sent me its an attachment to the email, and there are some errors in it,i see the price of the new car being ordered minus the amount they agreed for my car,its as if they think i am “buying” the car not leasing it for three years.

Will have to contact them in the morning.

I think you’ll find the order form is a purchase, the vehicle is not being leased from the dealer, but from motability.

the dealership paperwork is a full purchase, although that is being purchased by motability. You will get separate paperwork from Motability which is your lease

Ordinarily you don’t sign any order forms, but if I am reading your post correctly you are trading in your current private car. In that case, you are entering into a contract with the dealership separately to the Motability order, so signing a contract for that transaction would be quite normal. However, you obviously don’t want to sign anything that doesn’t state exactly what they are giving you for your trade-in, because if your new car is delayed they can argue that your car is then worth less than it is now.

Don’t feel compelled to trade-in your private car for a Motability car as you will usually get significantly more money by selling it privately. Yes it’s a bit more hassle, but I have always ended up with thousands more by selling privately. On one occasion I got £4,500 more privately than the dealer had offered in part-exchange.

I phoned them, the order form is agreeing the price for my car,its a fair price considering it does need a service (change oil light soon) (service is about £200/£300) came on two weeks ago and possibly a pair of front tyre’s soon.

I just dont have time to sell any other way as i am visiting hospital every day to see my loved one.
