In 2010 the personal tax allowance was slightly less than £6500, it’s now £12500. Everyone has £6000 more income before income tax has to be paid, left in their pocket. Is that a subsidy? Is that substantial? May I kindly suggest Daf, you’re looking at taxation through a particularly distorted prism and falling for the chancellor’s equally misleading rhetoric.
