yes Bandit, in redpanda’s case the ap has gone down from one quarter to the next so as i and you say it should be a simple case of cancel and reorder. in lou’s case another dealer was offering a cashback/reducedap and he asked the dealer he was dealing with to match it and they said no saying a loud of guff about any offers like that were taken off the gcb etc. usual salesman crap. so the only solution i see here is to cancel with the guff sayer and order from the cashback dealer assuming its worth it in time distance etc. hope that helps all. lol
That’s right – the Golf 8 R-Line 1.5eTSI was £999 in Q4 of 2020 but come Q1 2021 this dropped to £400! The manual now ranges from NIL to £200 or so I believe.
I did get a resolution today that I was happy with though. The dealer spoke with VW in Germany who offered two options:
- Reduce my AP down to the new £400 offering (£850 in total with the Alloy upgrade) but still wait until May and even longer with no confirmed date.
- Swap my order to a car currently waiting to be allocated to a customer that was ready to go into build (same spec but winter pack, rear-view camera and alloy upgrade) for £25 less than what I was paying with just the Alloy upgrade (inclusive of the £400 AP drop).
I chose the second option as it made sense considering it would then be closer to my original hand-over date. Obviously considering the GCB I was going to be paying this anyway so why not?
Well worth going to your dealer to check! I wasn’t a pain with them or went in demanding, I explained the situation and he offered me those two solutions.
