I hope I get my point across . It’s strange how a ice car at about 30k our AP is about the same as an EV car at about same price yet motability get the 3k from the government I think motability is good , it has lots of great extras insurance ect included but one of the great things the 20 k mileage a years . Motability lease EV cars at X amount AP so motability buy the ev cars at a reduced price because of buying power and then get the vat off the car then the government give the ev insensitive off about £3000 to motability then they lease to use at an extremely height AP to use I do not understand why we the customer can not get the government incentive to lease the EV.

I’m not sure you are right regarding the prices, also, the Government rebate is claimed by the manufacturer, not the purchaser.

For example, on a few cars that have a comparable Petrol and Electric version

Vauxhall Mokka Elite Nav Premium pricing is as follows
    Petrol:  £25775 AP£1699
    Electric: £32380  AP£2299

    Citroen C4 1.2 130 Sense Plus
    Petrol: £22990 AP £0
    Electric: £32180  AP£1595

As you can see, the Electric versions are considerably more expensive, but the AP is only a fraction of the difference.

But you can buy a petrol car that costs  £46940 for an AP of £4449 (The Vauxhall Vivaro)

Pricing has so many variables above just the purchase price, depreciation, service costs, insurance, how much the manufacturer wants to move a vehicle/model and the AP does a small amount to level this out.

I think AP’s look high on some EV’s, but that’s probably down to the manufacturer not needing to push/discount sales as they can sell most cars with little if any discount.  Even so, the raised AP’s, if you can afford them would soon be recouped by the reduced running costs.
