@gothitjulie that’s great news after reading that about Norway I saw a report Sweden has also hit a record 49.4% Electric Vehicle share. I will be able to order a new vehicle in March and want to go down the EV route. I’ve looked at various reviews on YouTube and the two EV’s I have have shortlisted are the Ioniq or Kia Soul. I was going to have a test drive for the day in a Kia Soul this week for the day but due to lockdown it has been cancelled. Thanks for all your previous posts on the Forum @Stuart do I take it that you still have not had the BP Chargemaster Wall Box sorted out.? Do you have to do all the organising of the Wall Box. You went for the Kia Soul did’nt you. What made up your mind choosing that car? Hopefully all will go well for February delivery, it will be a good start to the New Year.
I`ve always liked the Soul from the original one many moons ago but this new one is way above that. What impressed me most was the build quality of the cabin, i know many badge snobs will shun it because its a KIA but i can tell you it puts many so called premium brands to shame certainly streets ahead of my current Tiguan. The drive is unbelievable, ive been in a BMW i3 and it was like been shook to bits the suspension was that stiff but this is so quiet even at motorway speeds and the power pick up has to be experienced really its like a little rocket ship and even though its tall because the battery runs along the whole of the floor it keeps the centre of gravity down so it handles well too. Inside seems massive there is so much room both front and back and its not as small as it looks in real life i was surprised by that as well.
As for the wall box, they are supposed to contact you within 10 days of the application to sort out the installation. I waited for nearly 4 weeks and nothing so i contacted Motability who gave me a phone number to contact them which i did and they have no record of me, my address, or my application. Motability have now had to cancel my car and re submit the application again and im now waiting for the call to arrange installation. Highly unlikely it will be installed now before the 7th FEB so looks like i will have to wait a little longer for the car as i have told Motability i will not enter my PIN until the box is on the wall and working.
