I added one of our daughters earlier this year, two years into the lease and there was no charge at all. I think nominated drivers are meant to live within something like 5 miles of the lease holder, but our daughter is about 10-12 miles away and they had no issue with it. No mention of a tracker or whatever. The reason that I added her was that my wife (the leaseholder) cannot drive any more and we were worried that if I was taken ill at any time my wife would be completely stuck, especially if that happened when we were away (my wife is a full time wheelchair user). My daughter had to be available to talk to the insurers, who asked some basic questions and that was it. I got her to drive the car that same day as she had never driven an auto before. She hasn’t driven it again since and would only do so in an emergency.
