There are so many variations that can make a car good or bad in the snow, from size and type of tyres, to electronic aids and the ability to turn them on or off. Finally the experience of the driver.
I prefer automatics for their ease of use in stop start driving and the ability to imitate a manual in certain conditions.
Ive had many Land Rovers in the past thirty years, majority of them automatics and never had an issue with any in snow
