Recently I watched Robert Llewellyn’s review of the Vauxhall Corsa EV on YouTube and he explained his theory on why it is so expensive. He thinks that Vauxhall want to slow down the sale of EV’s by keeping the prices high. He also spoke a bit about battery cost and how much the cost has come down compared to (I think) ten years ago.
Now, I’ve got no idea if that’s true but it is something to think about
