Thanks Yramb. I spoke to the people who fitted your Prius+ (very pleasant but I am not in their catchment area) and to the manufacturer of the hoist. The later confirm that there is no kit for the standard Prius but are looking further into it. I suspect it will be no-go so I am considering replacing the car, and you r post has alerted me to the Prius+. I shall leave it until the early spring to finally decide, but thanks for your feedback.
