    Joss – the whereabouts of the girl’s consultant remain a mystery. As does the whereabout of anyone on his surgical team. As far as I can tell, he and team saw her pre-operation but not since then. Doc’s she’s seen have been the sad “duty” doc, an anaesthetist and a dietician. Want to have contact with consultant since it is vital we monitor the possibility of the condition happening yet again (very likely) and avoiding another huge surgical intervention. Suspect we will have to make this contact as a “private patient” because the NHS will not provide monitoring of this nature, despite the many thousands of quid it will save them (and the lives it will save too, although recent experience shows that this is low on NHS priority.)

    Main survival routine for us is to get her out of hospital. This could happen by Wednesday this week, when an acceptable oral pain killer is working. This is about a week too early for complete safety but we reckon the risk of coming home is far less than staying in there.

    To answer your other question, basically no-one was seeing her other than nurses.
