Oh, Tharg, I’m so sorry to hear that. One consolation it that they knew from the start what the problem was and got straight to it, but it’s only small consolation, I guess.
I wish there was something useful I could do to help – more practical than sympathetic words and just sending virtual hugs and ‘good vibes’ (which are heading your way, of course). Do you have any family near that can come and be with you at least for a while? I think I asked this last time but I don’t remember what you said.
