Autonomy gets me very worried, it sounds great on paper but the reality may be very different. Take yesterday as an example, I try to use active cruise control & the fog prevented it working (fog being the ideal test of a radar system, it should really outperform a human & add safety but it was hopeless), I try to use active mainbeam headlights and the fog prevented it even in the lightest wisps of fog.
Add in the numerious times that the cars I’ve had have panicked with imminent collision warnings on certain roads & I don’t have confidence that autonomy is anywhere near ready.
Now I know other manufacturers must have far superior systems, I see BMWs passing me at much higher speeds in fog…..
