Indeed carl, that is the the point of wto tariffs or having some sort of reciprocal trade deal, but often in the eu’s case they only do trade deals to suit there own agenda that protect and benefit the eu rather than the actually countries the eu represents, I’m even prepared to pay more and change my consumer habitslike using uk companies that have call centres in the uk not india, which also not in the eu. So it blows alot of arguements apart about how everything depends on the eu and being a part of the political union to trade. it really depends on us and how we use our wallets, our feet and our votes, moving froward.
