As an existing 2016 Q3 owner I was really excited to see the new Q3 become available. However, I’ve spent the last couple of days checking specification, and am sad to say have now crossed it off my list.
As others have said, even the black edition lacks some equipment you would expect to be included. No heated seats, reversing camera, parking assistance, etc without adding the Comfort & Sound pack at £1195. The dealbreaker for me is the omission of Advanced Key (Keyless entry and start). It is not possible to get this feature without purchasing the Vorsprung model. I’ve had this on my last 3 vehicles, so it drives me crazy if I now use a car without it.
The infotainment and digital cockpit on the new Q3 is amazing – far superior to the previous model. My Q3 is the Quattro TDI (184) with heated seats, advanced parking, and Keyfree. I love everything about it other than the dated MMI system. So it feels to me, infotainment systems aside, it would be a downgrade to choose the new Q3.
If the missing options aren’t important to you personally then the New Q3 is undoubtedly a great car, at a good AP.
