It’s a simple case of EV being fitted with some sort of tracking device linked to a mileage rate while petrol and diesel vehicles would just go on being screwed at the forecourt pump with possibility of some sort of discount on the rates for hybrids though I do see how that could be abused but hybrids are a stop gap anyway.
Can’t see this working very well by vehicles number plates as cloned number plates is already a problem that’s swept under the carpet to hush things up.
The road tax, ops sorry, I mean the road fund license that we are exempted from I would imagine would be rolled into the mileage rate so unless there’s some sort of % discount for the disabled taxes will increase for us through the back door.
