    Hi Brydo,

many interesting points, some of which have been discussed on here. My own experiences of nearly four decades of sophisticated aircraft automation make me a little sceptical of the motoring equivalent. Aviation is conducted in a highly professional, trained and disciplined environment. Motoring, sadly is anything but, and the mix of some clever autonomy with the usual idiotic , erratic and disrespectful minority on our roads is not a happy mix, imho. Even so called smart motorways have caused fatalities.. insurance, liability and lawyers will have a field day. In the event of an aircraft accident, which attracts forensic investigation by experts in many fields, manufacturers and airlines employ armies of lawyers with enormous budgets in an attempt to avert any liability. Pilots are easy targets, the 737 max crashes a recent case in point. I can see a day when every car is autonomous, but the transition is going to be a challenge. I find that my cruise control is rarely used due chaotic roads and traffic conditions.
