..just hate the fact that VW seems to have curtailed and held them back, in order not to outshine/outdo the Golf.
And that’s the whole point. Both Skoda and SEAT are not suppose to outshine their VE counterparts, where possible. It’s one of the reason why a previous Skoda CEO during 2016 was dismissed as the Superb was built to a higher standard than the equivalent Passat of its time. And to be honest, VAG still can’t decide where to position SEAT in the market place. Latest rumours suggest SEAT will become a “premium sports-orientated” version of VW to avoid stepping on CUPRA’s toes.
On a side note, it seems SEAT have adopted the “don’t change what’s not broken” approach.
