Well I got caught with this hyped VED Road/Car Tax when I ordered & purchased a new BMW i3 REx in 2018.
I didn’t know the rules on such tax and I certainly wasn’t educated or guided by the dealer i.e. I only found discovered the out’s & in’s of it all once the vehicle was on the road.
Not once in all the paperwork did the figure of +£40,000 appear as a LIST PRICE totalised amount and the full promotional EV Plug-in Government Grant of £4,500 at that time, certainly camouflaged & masked any true LIST PRICE figure.
I’m a pensioner and as such I would certainly never have willingly entered into this purchase had I known the facts.
I also feel that this will affect any future second-hand sale attempt, as no one for the next 3yrs is really going to consider buying this model with that tax attachment, unless one perhaps advertises it at a give away price!
