Shaine – I’m so sorry to read this and that you’re on the receiving end of others’ snide remarks. Ultimately, we as a family, don’t inform anyone outside of our household as to how we received our car because it’s none of their business. But if someone does ask, I either say it’s a company car or that I’ve bought the car privately.
Three individuals in our home are entitled to a Motability car but we choose to have one as my older sibling is happy with his ‘05 BMW 3-Series saloon while my Mother’s car is shared between me, my Father, and my younger sibling.
But as other forum members remark, you’ll get a thicker skin and eventually, it won’t affect you. However, if it does continue, own it and turn it back on them! Have fun being a tad petty by emphasising that you are entitled to two cars and ask how it affects their life.
