My own cars I service every 6,000 miles/12 months whichever comes first, every 12k they get fuel & cabin filters as well, it never costs that much and I find they always run sweet and do seem to give better performance/economy than the suggested figures plus hardly any mechanical maintenance.
Treat them well and they’ll last.
