Yes there is money to be saved however buying solar panels to charge electric vehicles is simply not realistic. It relies on the sun being up and the car being available. If you then put batteries in the system to balance then thats a lot of money that needs recovering…..
I have a decent solar system and an electric vehicle plus the benefits of a cheap electricity tariff and no matter how I apply man maths I am unable to get close to paying back the investment in a home battery.
Environmentally pv and batteries great, financially not so great…..
