Susan yes absolutely you as carer whether a child carer not getting paid or an adult carer getting £67.25 a week for a full week caring why do we ( the carers )do it because its usually someone we love family member or friend. Yet if all carers said said i’m not doing all that for free or next to nothing then the local council would need to give the support required at a substantially larger cost . So carers are saving then a fortune. And as you say it’s also a deductible benefit.
if an employer tried to pay carers the equivalent amount in salary they would be charged , taken to court or fined , in other words they wouldn’t get away with it , yet call it a benefit and the government can pay what they want no charged , taken to court or fined for cause they are the government
