I agree in that if true, this is a disaster.
And it is possible as Volvo keep flouting this vague ‘electrification’ term.
I’ve just ordered my first petrol car for about 15 years and am fully in the knowledge that the mpg won’t be a patch on my 18d X1. Not far off half in fact.
If this is the beginning of not just demonising diesel but eradicating it, it’s too soon. Forget the range issue of present, the infrastructure is nowhere near ready.
Those in cities and towns may say it’s not bad but go rural and your stuffed.
Those in the £2-10k second hand market are going to be relying on old diesels for years to come.
