On the motorway i need to use the adaptaive cruise and this hits the mpg hard, Over me driving thats for sure. Pretty much most of the time I use the acc now when i can and it don’t do the coasting when it’s on.. So over the 3 years i hardly ever drove in eco mode..
The civic does have an eco button as well but no stop / start and like in the golf the throttle response is reduced and it means i need to push my foot down more which increases my pain. So using sport mode means i just touch it and it goes with less pain to me. So is one of those situations i cannot do much about..
The Golf has gone now though and done almost 500 miles in the civic so far in the last few weeks and it use’s more fuel but is alot more fun. The civic will see me good till i’m 50. I could of got the 1.0l but I am loving having the extra power when i do drive it.
I’ve gone from 110 bhp to 182 bhp but from a 1.5l which is crazy really.
My son passed away in 2017 and he was only 16, he showed it to me back in 2017 when it first came out, but i’d only just gotten the golf then.
My first ever car was a 1.6 honda accord fastback back in the early 90’s FEG 832 V.
He loved cars all started with pimp my ride and he was enrolled to start at college to be a car technician, was actually his / would’ve been his 19th birthday on sunday, So just had to get the honda for him so to speak and was the only car i did test drive. He was my little car buddy hopefully he’s liking this one, was so strange looking at cars without him with me, the missus and the girls don’t really care that much.
