No £500 – Sunak has squashed that idea. Instead there will be a very watered down (= far less expensive) draft of ‘min-schemes’: Cuts in Stamp Duty for home buyers; Vouchers toward the cost of getting Cavity wall Insulation (money stolen from existing initiatives); (as I predicted) VAT cut to from 20% to 5% for businesses involved in Hospitality and Tourism; Half price/£10 discount on food and drink at pubs and restaurants Mon – Wed throughout August (which encouraging Tourism again, just by a different name).
Hands up anyone here who will be helped by any of these Schemes.
