Must be lucky with woodpeckers – Mr Yaffle is occasional visitor, mainly seeking ant breakfast, sometimes just sat in tree yaffling and giving one a nasty shock when he does. That call is SO loud. His cousin, the great spotted, makes visits too (see Pictures of Nature thread). Now HE has nickname of Black & Pecker because his drumming on trees really does sound like hammer drill!
We also get regular, if infrequent, visits from sparrowhawk who has not, yet, given me time to get my camera.
