Wow Tharg! A Green Woodpecker – Lucky you! I’ve only seen one in my garden in the last 20 years and he was clearly lost, because we have the wrong kind of trees around here. Alice Holt used to be an oak forest, but it was plundered by the Navy in the 18th/19th century and but now it’s mostly bloody conifers, which is a wasteland for wildlife. And it’s Lowland Heath on the other side – more conifers and horrible acid soil.
I’m not even going to mention the underpants Thread. I feel positively light-headed just thinking about it. 😮
